The Government of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh has received a loan from AGENCE FRANCAISE DE DEVELOPPEMENT
(AFD) towards the cost of “Construction and Augmentation of Substation, Installation of Capacitor Bank and Introduction of Smart Grid in
Power System under DPDC Area (CSCSG Project).” It is intended that part of the proceeds of this loan will be applied to eligible payments
under the Contract for the work named ‘Design, manufacture, supply, installation, testing and commissioning of 11 kV capacitor
banks and associated equipment along with necessary civil works in DPDC on turnkey basis’.with the objective of achieving power
factor (p.f.) of minimum 0.95 lagging at all DPDC Tariff points located at 132 kV, 33 kV and 11 kV voltage level maintaining voltage
regulation at all bus voltage level as per Electricity Grid Code-2019 of Bangladesh. This work consists of the following main components:
• Installation of Switched type Capacitor Banks at 11 kV bus bars of 33 / 11 kV Substations.
• Installation of Fixed type Capacitor Banks on the poles of 11 kV feeders.
• Testing & commissioning of all the equipment & materials to meet the functional guarantee and ready for commercial operation
of the facilities.
