The development of PPS Bitung Port, funded by AFD, will upgrade PPS Bitung into a modern and environmentally friendly fishing port, as well as a major fish landing center for export. This project includes dredging, reclamation, jetty extension, and the development of industrial zones and utilities to enhance efficiency, sustainability, and the quality of fishery products under the Eco‐Fishing.

The Ministry of Marine Affairs and Fisheries Directorate General of Capture Fisheries has received funds from Agence Française de Développement ("AFD") toward the cost of the Ecofishing Project – PPS Bitung, and it intends to apply part of the funds to payments under the contract for Eco Fishing Project. The Employer intends to prequalify firms for PPS Bitung port development works. It is expected that invitations for bid will be made in Quarter 3 years 2026.
