1. The Shinyanga Water Supply and Sanitation Authority (SHUWASA), through the United Republic of Tanzania, has received funds from Agence Française de Développement ("AFD") toward the cost of the Shinyanga Water and Sanitation Project, and it intends to apply part of the funds to payments under the contract for Construction of Shinyanga Potable Water Distribution Systems and SHUWASA Head Quarter Office Building. The Employer intends to prequalify firms for:
• Supply, installation and testing of about 270 km of HDPE pipes with outside diameters ranging from 63 mm to 560 mm with associated equipment;
• Supply, installation and testing of about 6 km of Steel pipes with diameters ranging from 600 mm to 900 mm with associated equipment;
• Construction of a ground reservoir for drinkable water with a volume of 1,500 m3;
• Construction of a 15m height tower for drinkable water with a volume of 250 m3;
• Supply, installation and testing of electromechanical equipment on the water network;
• Supply of house connection equiment and transfer of house connections for sections of pipes to be rehabilitated or reinforced;
• Construction of multi storey building for new SHUWASA`s head quarter
• Construction of 30 automated water points
2. It is expected that invitations for bid will be made in September 2023.
3. Interested eligible Applicants may obtain further information from and inspect the prequalification documents at the Shinyanga Water Supply and Sanitation Authority (address below) from 0800Hours to 1530Hours (Local time) or may obtain further information from and download the prequalification documents electronically at the Ministry of Water’s website: https://www.maji.go.tz or Shinyanga Water Supply and Sanitation Authority’s website: https://www.shuwasa.or.tz or AFD's website: http://afd.dgmarket.com free of charge.
4. Applications for prequalification should be submitted in sealed envelopes (One Original and Four copies including one softcopy on a flash disk), delivered to the address below not later than Tuesday 4th July 2023, 1000hours (local time) and be clearly marked "Application to Prequalify for Shinyanga Water and Sanitation Project - Construction of Shinyanga Potable Water Distribution Systems and SHUWASA Head Quarter Office Building with tender number AE/046/2022-2023/AFDP/W/01
5. Prequalification’s will be opened promptly thereafter in public and in presence Applicant’s representatives who may choose to attend in the opening ceremony at SHUWASA head Office on 4th July 2023 at 1030hours (local Time)
