Contract Name: Stage1A: Construction of Pump Stations, Transmission Mains and Reservoirs
IFB No: MWAUWASA/LVWATSAN/AFD/WSS/1A/001/2023

1. The Mwanza Urban Water Supply and Sanitation Authority (MWAUWASA) has received funds from Agence Française de Développement ("AFD") and the Government of the United Republic of Tanzania (GoT) towards the cost of Water Supply System for Kisesa, Buhongwa, Kishiri and Usagara Wards in Mwanza City and Neighbouring Areas. It is intended that part of the proceeds of these funds will be applied to eligible payments under the contract for Stage 1A- Construction of Pump Stations, Transmission Mains and Storage Reservoirs ("the Works).
2. The Mwanza Urban Water Supply and Sanitation Authority now invites sealed Bids from eligible Bidders for the construction and completion of Stage 1A: Construction of Pump Stations, Transmission Mains and Storage Reservoirs ("the Works ("the Works").
3. Interested eligible Bidders may obtain further information from and inspect the Bidding Documents at the office of Managing Director, MWAUWASA, Maji House, Balewa Road, PO. Box 317, 33104 Mwanza, Tanzania, Telephone: +255 282500547; Electronic mail address: info@mwauwasa.go.tz
4. A complete set of Bidding Documents may be purchased by interested Bidders on the submission of a written application to the above and upon payment of a non-refundable fee of 500,000 TShs or equivalent in a convertible currency.
5. The provisions in the Instructions to Bidders and in the General Conditions of Contract are the provisions of AFD's Standard Bidding Documents: Procurement of Works.
6. Bids must be delivered to the above office on or before 11.00 hrs EAT on Tuesday, 17th October 2023 and must be accompanied by Bid security of Five Hundred Thousand Euros (Euros 500,000).
7. Bids will be opened in the presence of Bidders’ representatives who choose to attend at 11.00 hrs EAT on Tuesday, 17th October 2023 at MWAUWASA Head Office, Board Room, MAJI HOUSE, Balewa Road, in Mwanza City.
8. Qualification criteria are as follows:
a) A Bidder may be a firm that is a private entity, a State-owned entity or any combination of such entities in the form of a joint venture (JV);
b) Have an average turnover of Euro 20 million over the last five years and have demonstrable access to financial means of Euro 3 million;
c) Have over 10 year construction experience and has executed at least three Contracts with a value of over Euro 15 million over the last five years;
d) Have successfully executed projects in the last five years comprising pumping stations, large diameter transmission mains and reinforced concrete reservoirs
