The market governed is a contract for intellectual services relating to the provision of the following services: Develop a pilot Strategic Environmental Assessment for the Free Tourism Zone of Charvak, Uzbekistan.

The general objective of the SEA study is to ensure the Master Plan for the Free Tourism Zone (FTZ) – as well as its subsequent implementation and progress monitoring plans - provides an adequate response to and/or considers the potential environmental, climate change and socio- economic issues and opportunities of Charvak tourism.
The specific objectives of this SEA are to identify, describe and assess the following:
The likely significant effects on the environment of the implementation of the Decree of Cabinet of the Republic of Uzbekistan No. UP-5611 “On measures for the implementation of activities Free tourist zone "Charvak"
The environmental, natural resource-related and climate change-related constraints bearing on the performance and sustainability (positive or negative) of the tourism sector in FTZ Charvak, this should include the vulnerability and adequate responses to climate change.
The opportunities by which the Tourism Zone of Charvak may contribute to enhancing the state of the environment, building climate resilience for the tourism sector and the population, and promoting low carbon development as well as the transition to a green economy.
The potential investment interventions to avoid or mitigate the identified potentially negative environmental effects, or indeed that can contribute to the development of positive environmental outcomes in light of the environmental degradation in the area more generally.
