1. The Jos Water Services Corporation has received funds from the Agence Française de Développement (the French Development Agency) towards the cost of the 3rd National Urban Water Sector Reform Project in Plateau State. It is intended that part of the proceeds of these funds will be applied to eligible payments under the contract for the Reconstruction of Transmission Mains, Rehabilitation & Expansion of Distribution Network.
2. The Jos Water Services Corporation now invites sealed bids from eligible bidders for Reconstruction of Transmission Mains, Rehabilitation & Expansion of Distribution Network (“the Works”).
Reconstruction of Transmission Mains, Rehabilitation and Expansion of Distribution Network in Jos
Firm tranche of works:
The scope of works of the firm tranche includes:

- Water Supply Network: 435km of secondary and tertiary network reconstruction and expansion in 16 target zones of the city of Jos. A total of 270km of secondary network need to be reconstructed and/or and range from DN 40 to DN 280 in pipe diameters (mostly HDPE). In addition, 165km of tertiary lines (house connection), ranging mainly from DN 20 to DN 32 also need to be constructed/reconstructed.
- Transmission Main: Reconstruction of a 0.7km (700m) Ductile Iron DN 300 transmission main
- Individual Water Meters: installations of over 38,000 individual mechanical water meters, including fittings and water meter boxes.
- DMAs: installation of 6 bulk water meters and 10 isolation valves in order to create 3 pilot DMA’s inside the water supply network of the city.
- Miango Booster Pumping Station: Two pumps with flow capacity of 560 m3/h and a head of 26.5 m each will replace two of the existing broken pumps while a third pump with the same capacity will be overhauled. All existing control cabinets, electric circuits for the pumps, Change-Over Switch gears shall be replaced. A two-ton overhead crane including control panels and electric circuits shall be installed. General rehabilitation works including painting, rehabilitation of the toilet including roofing, replacing windows, completing perimeter fence iron rails, and providing steps for pumping station entrance, shall be done. Columns to support the new overhead crane shall be installed. Lighting of the building shall be rehabilitated.
Conditional tranche of works:
The scope of works of the conditional tranche includes:

- Water Supply Network: 12km of secondary and tertiary network reconstruction and expansion in 2 target zones of the city of Jos. A total of 9km of secondary network need to be reconstructed and/or and range from DN 40 to DN 200 in pipe diameters (mostly HDPE). In addition, 3km of tertiary lines (house connection), ranging mainly from DN 20 to DN 32 also need to be constructed/reconstructed.
- Transmission Main: Construction of a 9km PE DN 450 transmission main.
- Individual Water Meters: installation of 270 individual mechanical water meters, including fittings and water meter boxes.
- DMAs: installation of 77 bulk water meters and 218 isolation valves in order to create 60 DMA’s inside the water supply network of the city.

3. Interested eligible bidders may obtain further information from and inspect the Bidding Documents at the office of Project Implementation Unit (PIU) at Jos Water Services Corporation, Industrial layout, Old Airport Road, P.M.B 2198 Jos Plateau State or by E‐mail aposamchi@gmail.com, psuwsp2024@gmail.com and inspect the Bidding Documents between the hours of 10.00am – 2.00pm (local time).
4. A complete set of Bidding Documents may be purchased by interested bidders on the submission of a written application to the above and upon payment of a non-refundable fee of Euro (€) 200.
5. The provisions in the Instructions to Bidders and in the General Conditions of Contract are the provisions of AFD's Standard Bidding Documents: Procurement of Works.
6. Bids must be delivered to the above office1 on or before 11:00 am (local time) on Wednesday 21st, May 2025 and must be accompanied by a security bid in the amount of 2.5% of the bid amount (excluding conditional tranche) in either EUR or the equivalent amount in Naira with exchange rate on date of publication of Tender Documents.
7. Bids will be opened in public and in the presence of bidders’ representatives who choose to attend at 14.00pm on Wednesday 21st, May 2025 at the offices of;
